Årabrot-The Gospel

Årabrots syvende album “The Gospel” består av en samling med låter som ble til da bandets frontmann, Kjetil Nernes, var under behandling for strupekreft.

«The Gospel» ble spilt inn i Steve Albini sitt studio Electrical Audio i Chicago og mikset av Milton Von Krogh. Foruten kjernemedlemmet Kjetil Nernes , var bidragsyterne på albumet bla. Ted Parsons (Killing Joke, Swans, Prong), Andrew Liles (Current93, Nurse With Wound), Stephen O'Malley (Sunn0)))), Karin Park og Kristoffer Lo (Highasakite). Daværende Kvelertak-vokalist Erlend Hjelvik gjorde en gjesteopptreden med noen norrøne vokallinjer på låten «Ah Feel».

«The Gospel» ble sett på som på en ny era , hvor Haugesundsbandet kom under utvikling. Det ble beskrevet som Årabrot på sitt mest konfronterende og urovekkende, samtidig gjorde vokalfokusen og de distinkte låtene «The Gospel» til Årabrots mest tilgjengelige album til dagens dato.

Everyone bringing in their own world, their own egos, their own thing. All parts develop and finesse the specific Årabrot sound, the animal called Årabrot."”
